Installing XLN Audio Addictive Keys

This guide is made for people installing and using the plugins from Focusrite's Hitmaker Expansion– a set of plugins included with your Focusrite interface.

This section teaches you how to install XLN Audio Addictive Keys step-by-step. You can download all the Hitmaker Expansion plugins from your Focusrite account, but it's often best to install them one by one.

To install any plugin from the Hitmaker Expansion, you must have already registered your Focusrite device. For more information, and steps on how to register your Focusrite interface, go to: getstarted.focusrite.com.

I've never installed an XLN Audio plugin before

To install XLN Audio Addictive Keys:

  1. Go to: id.focusritegroup.com/my-software.

    1. If you're prompted, log in with your Focusrite account.

  2. Click on My Software at the top of the page.

  3. Scroll down until you see XLN Addictive Keys.

  4. Click View details.

  5. Click Show me my code to reveal your unique activation code.

  6. Click the Copy button to the right, to copy the code.

  7. Go to xlnaudio.com/register.

  8. Click dropdown and paste your code.

  9. Click one of the following options.

    • Continue with email - to create an XLN Audio account with your email address.

    • Continue with Google - to create an XLN Audio account with your Google account.

    • Continue with Apple - to create an XLN Audio account with your Apple account.

    • Log in - to log into an existing XLN Audio account. For example, if you've installed an XLN Audio plugin previously, such as XLN Audio Addictive Drums.

      If you already have an XLN Audio account:

      1. Enter your details to log in.

      2. Click Register Product in the left-hand sidebar.

      3. Paste the product key you copied earlier into the box.

      4. Click Register product key.

  10. If you don't have an XLN Audio account, create one.

  11. Click Download XLN Online Installer.

  12. Click either Download Windows XLN Online Installer or Download macOS XLN Online Installer.

  13. Go to your computer's Downloads folder and run the downloaded file.

    The downloaded file should be called “XLN Online Installer” and be in your Downloads folder.

  14. (Windows only) Click Yes if you're asked Do you want to allow this app to make chances to your device?.

  15. Click Log in and use the same login details you set up earlier in these steps.

  16. Type a suitable name for your computer and click Register Computer (this is so you can manage your licences in the future, for example, if you change computer).

  17. Click Ok.

  18. Unless you have a very specific need, click Standard in the Installation Type window.

  19. Click Click to start - Install: 3.

    The installation may take some time as the plugin includes many high-quality piano samples.

  20. Click Ok.

Now the installation has finished, you can close the XLN Online Installer and start to use Addictive Keys, either standalone or in your DAW. To learn more, move onto the next section.

I have installed an XLN Audio plugin before

If you've installed a plugin from XLN Audio before, for example you might have installed Addictive Drums in the past, installation is slightly easier.

To install XLN Audio Addictive Keys:

  1. Go to: id.focusritegroup.com/my-software.

    1. If you're prompted, log in with your Focusrite account.

  2. Click on My Software at the top of the page.

  3. Scroll down until you see XLN Addictive Keys.

  4. Click View details.

  5. Click Show me my code to reveal your unique activation code.

  6. Click the Copy button to the right, to copy the code.

  7. Open XLN Online Installer from your computer's applications folder.

  8. Click Register Product Key.

  9. Paste the Product Key from your Focusrite account.

  10. Go back to the XLN Online Installer application.

  11. Make sure ADDICTIVE KEYS and Studio Grand are ticked.

  12. Click Click to start - Install: 3.
